Wildlife Friendly Fencing
Wildlife friendly fencing is basically fencing that will allow the wildlife to pass through or over the
fence but will keep cattle contained.
The fence is made up of four strands of wire. The top and the bottom strands are smooth
wire. The middle two strands are barbed wire. The top and the bottom strands are installed at
set distances from the ground.

This arrangement allows the small wildlife to slide under the bottom wire without and injury.
And it allows the larger animals like deer to jump over the fence without injury.

The fence is constructed with "Rock Jacks" at each corner and if there is a gate, there is a
Rock Jack at each side of the gate. A Rock Jack is a pillar of rock that is contained by a wire
basket and fence posts. This provides anchor points for the fence.
And the end result is that the antelope, deer and other wildlife can get into the watering
holes.
